Who we are

HOP is operated by HandyHop. HOP helps businesses connect their professional Instagram accounts so they can manage customer conversations and support more effectively with AI assistance.

What HOP does

When a business connects a professional Instagram account to HOP, HOP can receive and process messages from customers so the business can answer questions, handle support requests, and—when enabled—manage appointments or leads.

Information we may process

Depending on how a business uses HOP and the Instagram integration, we may process:

  • Instagram professional account ID and username
  • Incoming customer messages
  • Message IDs and timestamps
  • Business account connection and access information
  • Customer details that are voluntarily shared in conversations

How we use this information

We process this information to:

  • Answer customer questions on behalf of connected businesses
  • Assist businesses with customer support
  • Support appointment and lead handling when those features are enabled
  • Improve the connected business's AI knowledge based on relevant conversations and training data

We do not sell your data

HandyHop does not sell personal data collected through HOP. We use the information described in this policy to provide and improve the HOP service for connected businesses and their customers.

Access tokens and security

When a business connects Instagram to HOP, access tokens are stored securely and are not shown publicly. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect connection credentials and related account information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Third-party processors

To operate HOP, we may use trusted third-party service providers, including:

  • Meta (for Instagram messaging and account connectivity)
  • Hosting providers (to run and store the HOP application and data)
  • Email providers (to send service and support communications)
  • AI providers (to power conversational assistance and related features)

These providers process information only as needed to deliver their services to us, and are expected to protect that information appropriately.

Retention and deletion

We retain information for as long as needed to provide HOP, fulfill the purposes described above, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Businesses and users may request deletion of HOP/Instagram integration data. For details on how to submit a request, see our Data Deletion page. Where legally permitted, we will delete connected Instagram tokens, account mapping, and stored conversation data associated with the request.

These can include the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data; the right to data portability; and the right to object to certain processing.
